Ryan Straka
PERFORMANCE & SWIM COACH
Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Ryan began his athletic journey as a competitive swimmer for James Madison High School in Vienna. It was during these early years that he discovered a passion for strength training, using the gym as a tool to enhance his performance in the pool.
In college Ryan was part of the Marymount University Varsity Swim Team. He later transferred to George Mason University, where he completed his B.S. in Kinesiology.

While at Mason, Ryan faced a series of injuries—including a meniscus tear and a rotator cuff injury—that could have ended his athletic path. Instead, these challenges fueled a deeper interest in biomechanics, injury prevention, and performance optimization. His setbacks became a turning point, igniting a passion for helping others train smarter and return stronger.

Now, with years of experience as both a private swim coach and strength coach, Ryan brings a thoughtful, movement-first approach to every athlete he works with. He’s proud to have trained himself back to competitive swimming, currently competing in U.S. Masters Swimming.
Ryan is passionate about guiding athletes through their own unique journeys—whether they’re striving for peak performance, recovering from injury, or just starting out.
